Garmin Unveils Vivoactive 6: A Smarter, Sleeker Fitness Companion

Garmin has officially launched the Vivoactive 6 in Australia, adding a new chapter to its lineup of health and fitness smartwatches. Priced at $549, the watch is designed for everyday users who want robust health tracking without the complexity of top-tier models.

The Vivoactive 6 builds on its predecessor’s foundation with notable upgrades. It features a new Smart Wake alarm system that uses sleep cycle data to wake users during light sleep, aiming to reduce grogginess. The watch also introduces suggested walk workouts, encouraging consistent daily activity with easy-to-follow prompts.

A vivid 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen brings sharper visuals and more responsive controls, while battery life stretches up to 11 days in standard smartwatch mode and up to 21 hours with GPS enabled. Garmin has also doubled the device’s music storage to 8GB, making it easier for users to download and play playlists offline.

Navigation has been improved too, with the addition of BeiDou and QZSS satellite systems joining the standard GPS for greater positioning accuracy. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the new Garmin Strength Coach feature, which offers guided strength workouts along with muscle group mapping for smarter training.

The Vivoactive 6 comes in four color options—Black/Slate, Bone/Lunar Gold, Pink Dawn, and Jasper Green—blending functionality with style. With this release, Garmin continues to target users looking for a well-rounded, health-focused smartwatch without overwhelming complexity.
