NETGEAR has introduced the Orbi 870 Series Mesh System, the latest addition to its growing Wi-Fi 7 mesh networking solutions lineup. Designed to deliver ultra-fast speeds, low latency, and increased network capacity, the Orbi 870 supports modern, high-demand smart homes with multiple connected devices.
With tri-band Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 21 Gbps, the Orbi 870 ensures uninterrupted 4K and 8K streaming, high-speed gaming, and remote work without lag or congestion. It features a 10 Gig internet port, making it compatible with high-speed fibre and cable plans. It also includes four 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports on both the router and satellites, allowing multi-gig wired connections for improved performance.
The Orbi 870 utilises Wi-Fi 7 technologies, including 320 MHz channels, 4K QAM, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which combines the 5GHz and 6GHz bands to boost speed and reliability. This means smoother streaming, faster downloads, and lower latency, even in homes with up to 150 connected devices.
MLO also enables Enhanced Backhaul, improving the connection between the main router and satellites, ensuring strong, uninterrupted coverage from the front door to the backyard. This especially benefits large homes or multi-story residences with inconsistent Wi-Fi coverage.
Security is a top priority for NETGEAR, and the Orbi 870 includes Advanced Router Protection, which uses AI-driven threat detection and real-time patching to safeguard against cyberattacks. This prevents vulnerabilities without waiting for full firmware updates.
Users also receive a 30-day trial of NETGEAR Armor Powered by Bitdefender, a built-in security suite that protects all connected devices, including security cameras, baby monitors, and IoT devices.
