Amazon’s eero has unveiled two new additions to its Wi-Fi 7 lineup in Australia, introducing the eero 7 and eero Pro 7 to meet growing demand for faster and more reliable home internet. The new devices build on the foundation laid by the flagship eero Max 7, delivering cutting-edge wireless performance powered by the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology and eero’s proprietary networking innovations.
The eero 7 is positioned as the most affordable entry into Wi-Fi 7, offering multi-gigabit speeds in a compact, dual-band design. With wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps via dual 2.5 Gb ports, it caters to everyday users who rely on Wi-Fi for streaming, working, and studying. A single unit covers up to 190 square metres, while a three-pack extends coverage to 560 square metres, making it ideal for apartments and small to mid-sized homes.
For households with more demanding connectivity needs, the eero Pro 7 delivers tri-band performance with support for 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands, offering wireless speeds up to 3.9 Gbps and wired speeds up to 4.7 Gbps through dual 5 GbE ports. With a silent, fanless thermal design and the capacity to support over 600 devices, the Pro 7 is built for high-bandwidth environments such as homes with multiple users gaming, streaming, or working simultaneously.
Both models benefit from eero’s TrueMesh, TrueRoam, and TrueChannel technologies, which optimise speed and stability by dynamically routing data, ensuring seamless transitions between access points, and selecting the best available wireless channel. The routers also support the latest in smart home standards, including Matter, Thread, and Zigbee, allowing them to function as central hubs for connected devices with Alexa integration.
Security is a key focus, with support for WPA3, automatic over-the-air updates, and optional advanced features through the eero Plus subscription, which includes malware protection, VPN access, and parental controls. Setup and management are streamlined via the redesigned eero app, which allows users to monitor devices, pause internet access, and share network credentials.
The eero 7 and eero Pro 7 are available now in Australia. The eero 7 is priced at AU$299.99 for a single unit and AU$649.99 for a three-pack, while the eero Pro 7 retails for AU$529.99 for one and AU$1,199.99 for three. Both can be purchased through Amazon.com.au, JB Hi-Fi, and Officeworks.
